Le Mont habité

Le Mont habité is a permanent public artwork by Manuel Mathieu commissioned for the Édouard-Montpetit REM station in Montréal. Composed of five large-scale mosaic panels integrated into the station’s architecture, the work draws inspiration from the gabbro rock excavated on site. Through layered textures and mineral tones, Manuel evokes an inhabited landscape where geology, memory, and movement converge, connecting the underground space to the lived and historical presence of the land above.
